S3 Maths Supplements :) Yummy!!

Maths supplement continues ...

S3:
A sweater costs $24. It costs twice as much as a shirt.
Find the total cost of 3 sweaters and 3 shirts.

    Working:

    3 sweaters = $24 x 3
    = $72

    1 shirt = $24/2
    = $12

    3 shirt = $12 x 3
    = $36

    3 sweater + 3 shirt = $36 + $72
    = $108

    12 = 1 t-shirt.
    3 T-shirts = 12*3
    = 36
    3 sweatshirts = 24*3
    = 72
    Total = 72+36= 108

    3 sweatshirts and 3 t-shirts cost $108.

    Half of a sweater = $12(shirt)
    $24 + $12 = $36(1 sweater and 1 shirt)
    $36 x 3 = $108 (3 sweaters and 3 shirts)
    The total cost of 3 sweaters and 3 shirts is $108.
    (Looks like my method is a bit different from the others)
